Rick
Houle plays the pulsating and creative drum parts
imagined and
realized by John Densmore. Rick, an experienced rock &
jazz drummer drives home
the rhythm section; interpreting the latin
salsa-inspired beats, shuffle blues rhythms,
rock and roll pulses,
jazz riffs and African flavored tom-tom grooves.
Rick, self-taught, played in 2 high school
rock bands in the early 80s and then did the
Ottawa rock club scene in the
late 80s to the mid-90s in several cover bands including
Private i
and Steaming Buckets with
shows at Barrymore's,
The Penguin,
Grand Central Station,
The British Hotel,
Topaz Entertainment Club,
etc.
In the mid 90s Rick
played several jazz gigs with
Gabbro (including several shows at
the
Black
Sheep Inn) and
also conference and banquet gigs.
In 2007-2008, Rick played a dozen gigs with the Ottawa rock cover band
Naked Fridays.
